Bio Sketch: H. Dale Burke H. Dale Burke is a successful author, sought-after international conference speaker, and senior pastor of the 6,000+ member First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, California. As the founder of Dale Burke Leadership Seminars, he teaches both ministry and marketplace leaders the Burke's books include Take Back Your Life!, How to Lead and Still Have a Life, Less Is More Leadership (Gold Medallion Award finalist), A Love That Never Fails, and Different by Design: God's Master Plan for Harmony Between Men and Women. He has also written numerous magazine and journal articles. In his latest book, Take Back Your Life!, Burke outlines ten key choices toward restoring balance to life and experiencing more time, energy, and effectiveness both at home and in the workplace. Sharing from his own struggle to keep up with an overly complex and demanding life, Burke shows that the path to freedom requires seemingly paradoxical, but effective, choices, including: surrendering to regain control, doing less to achieve more, and choosing to stop climbing in order to reach the top. Delving further into these life-changing concepts, Burke explains why choosing to simplify, reduce, and slow down, will actually increase our productivity and potential. Each chapter concludes with a series of helpful, though-provoking questions, which encourage small, immediate choices that work together to quickly put readers on the path toward restoration and the more peaceful life that God intended. A highly-regarded expert on life issues and leadership challenges, Burke has conducted seminars for such diverse organizations as the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, World Relief in Rwanda, the Linguistics Institute of Brazil, and BBL forum, a program of Christian CEOs and company presidents. He has also spoken at international conferences for Christian ministry leaders in various countries, including Thailand, Franc, Poland, Austria, Mexico, and Denmark, and at many conference sites, such as Forest Home, Mount Hermon, Hume Lake, and Moody Pastor's Conference. An engaging media guest, Burke has been interviewed on dozens of radio shows, including Dennis Rainey's Family Life, Gary Rosberg's America's Family Coaches, Janet Parshall's America, and a number of programs broadcast on the Mood Broadcasting Network. Dale graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1979 with high honors and received the Arthur C. Gannett Award in Christian Education. He also holds a degree in speech communications from Marshall University and recently received an honorary doctorate from Biola University. Prior to accepting the pastorate at Fullerton, he was active with Campus Crusade for Christ, and served as a senior pastor to churches in Ohio and California. Dale and his wife, Becky, have been married more than thirty years and have been blessed with three wonderful children and one pretty incredible grandson. |
